Magnitude 6 earthquake jolts US state of Alaska

There were no reports of casualties or property damage from the earthquake

A strong earthquake jolted Alaska, the US Geological Survey (USGS) reported on Friday. The epicenter was 168 kilometers (104 miles) southwest of Nikolski, occurring at a depth of 41 km (25 miles) on Thursday local time (0313 GMT Friday). No tsunami warning was issued, and there were no reports of casualties or property damage.
